    Tuesday has proved to be a very active day, as predicted. The area saw over one hundred lightning strikes Tuesday afternoon and evening. Not only that, but trees were downed in Ashland, and further northeast, hail half an inch in diameter fell near Chemult, blanketing the ground.

    The Pumice Fire is burning 25 acres inside Crater Lake National Park as of Tuesday morning and there is no containment at this time. According to officials at Crater Lake, one week ago on Tuesday, July 22nd, the Park received numerous lightning strikes.

    (UPDATE 7:25 A.M.): Firefighters and bulldozers dug fireline all night on the Reeves Creek Fire, which has burned 200-250 acres of forestland south of Selma (25 miles southwest of Grants Pass in Josephine County). Fireline now encircles 70 percent of the fire’s perimeter.
