High pressure will build into the Northwest today. This is going to keep temperatures very mild and bring quiet weather to our forecast area. Low lying clouds and fog will break and lead to mostly sunny skies for the afternoon.
Temperatures are warming, and it is causing what little snow pack there is on Mount Ashland and Mount Shasta, to start to melt. The run-off helps to fill local reservoirs, but officials said those reservoirs are lower than year's past.
Local lawmakers are praising President Obama for supporting a House bill that could change the way wildfires are fought around the country. It would allow disaster relief funds to be used for catastrophic wildfires, many of which seen in Oregon.
Friday afternoon, Mt. Ashland announced that the Hoodoo Ski Area near Sisters, Oregon will allow all 2013-14 Mt. Ashland season pass holders free skiing at their resort up until Mt. Ashland opens for the season.
